Intensity of UV radiation : extreme The public is advised to avoid prolonged exposure under the sun to prevent damage to skin and eyes. According to the present forecast, the tropical cyclone to the east of the Philippines will enter within 800 kilometres of Hong Kong tomorrow night (18 July) to early Saturday (19 July). The Observatory will issue the Standby Signal, No. 1 by then. The tropical cyclone is expected to intensify gradually and edge closer to the vicinity of the coast of western Guangdong afterwards. Its associated strong winds and outer rainbands will also affect the territory gradually. There will be heavy squally showers and thunderstorms later on Saturday to Monday. It will be windy and seas will be rough with swells. Members of the public are advised to stay away from the shoreline and not to engage in water sports. The Observatory will consider issuing the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 during the day on Saturday. Depending on the distance between the tropical cyclone and the Pearl River Estuary, its intensity and the change in local wind conditions, the Observatory will assess the need of issuing higher Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals on Sunday. Members of the public should take note of the latest weather information from the Observatory. Please be reminded that:The Very Hot Weather Warning is now in force. 按 照 現 時 預 測 ， 位 於 菲 律 賓 以 東 的 熱 帶 氣 旋 會 在 明 晚 （ 7 月 18 日 ） 至 星 期 六 （ 7 月 19 日 ） 初 時 進 入 本 港 800 公 里 範 圍 ， 天 文 台 屆 時 會 發 出 一 號 戒 備 信 號 。 預 料 該 熱 帶 氣 旋 隨 後 會 逐 步 增 強 並 靠 近 廣 東 西 部 沿 岸 一 帶 ， 與 其 相 關 的 強 風 區 及 外 圍 雨 帶 亦 會 逐 漸 影 響 本 港 ， 星 期 六 稍 後 至 星 期 一 會 有 狂 風 大 驟 雨 及 雷 暴 ， 風 勢 頗 大 ， 海 有 大 浪 及 湧 浪 ， 市 民 應 遠 離 岸 邊 及 停 止 水 上 活 動 。 天 文 台 會 考 慮 在 星 期 六 的 日 間 發 出 三 號 強 風 信 號 ， 並 視 乎 該 熱 帶 氣 旋 與 珠 江 口 的 距 離 、 其 強 度 及 本 地 風 力 變 化 ， 評 估 是 否 需 要 在 星 期 日 改 發 更 高 熱 帶 氣 旋 警 告 信 號 。 市 民 請 留 意 天 文 台 的 最 新 天 氣 消 息 。
