Air temperature : 28 degrees Celsius
Relative Humidity : 85 per cent
According to the present forecast, Wipha will enter within 800 kilometres of Hong Kong around midnight. The Observatory will issue the Standby Signal, No. 1 in the small hours of Saturday (19 July). Wipha is expected to intensify progressively and edge closer to the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary on Saturday and Sunday (20 July). Winds will strengthen gradually later on Saturday. Showers will be heavy with squally thunderstorms. The Observatory will consider issuing the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 during the day on Saturday.
Wipha will be rather close to the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary on Sunday and there will be heavy squally showers and thunderstorms. Seas will be very rough with swells. Members of the public are advised to stay away from the shoreline and not to engage in water sports.
Depending on the distance between Wipha and the Pearl River Estuary, the intensity of Wipha and the change in local winds, the Observatory will assess, on Saturday afternoon, the need of issuing higher tropical cyclone warning signals on early Sunday. Members of the public should pay close attention to the latest weather information from the Observatory. The air temperatures at other places were:

按 照 現 時 預 測 ， 韋 帕 會 在 午 夜 前 後 進 入 本 港 800 公 里 範 圍 ， 天 文 台 會 在 星 期 六 （ 7 月 19 日 ） 凌 晨 時 分 發 出 一 號 戒 備 信 號 。 預 料 韋 帕 會 在 星 期 六 及 星 期 日 （ 7 月 20 日 ） 逐 步 增 強 並 靠 近 珠 江 口 一 帶 ， 本 港 星 期 六 稍 後 風 勢 逐 漸 增 強 ， 雨 勢 頗 大 及 有 狂 風 雷 暴 。 天 文 台 會 考 慮 在 星 期 六 的 日 間 發 出 三 號 強 風 信 號 。
韋 帕 會 在 星 期 日 頗 為 接 近 珠 江 口 一 帶 ， 本 港 會 有 狂 風 大 驟 雨 及 雷 暴 ， 海 有 非 常 大 浪 及 湧 浪 ， 市 民 應 遠 離 岸 邊 及 停 止 水 上 活 動 。
