Areas of intense thundery showers associated with upper-air disturbances will affect the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary today (28 August). There will be showers, thunderstorms and squalls over Hong Kong today. Showers will be heavy at times in the morning and during the day. Depending on the development of heavy showers, the Observatory will issue the corresponding rainstorm warning signal as soon as possible. Members of the public should take note of the latest weather information and warnings issued by the Observatory before going out today.
