Intensity of UV radiation : moderate Tropical Cyclone Danas is moving across the vicinity of Fujian. According to the present forecast, Danas will move west-southwest, enter Guangdong and weaken gradually today and tomorrow (9 and 10 July). Its remnant may then skirt near Guangzhou. The active southwest monsoon to its south will generally affect the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary tomorrow and on Friday (11 July). There will be torrential rain and squally thunderstorms over the territory. Meanwhile, the Observatory will consider issuing the Strong Monsoon Signal depending on the local wind change. Under the combined effect of the torrential rain and relatively strong southwest monsoon, the weather will be relatively severe over the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary. Members of the public should take note of the latest weather forecast and warnings issued by the Observatory. Please be reminded that:The Very Hot Weather Warning is now in force.
