At 4 p.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory : Air temperature : 26 degrees Celsius Relative Humidity : 95 per cent During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park : 0.3 Intensity of UV radiation : low According to the present forecast, Super Typhoon Ragasa will continue to intensify in the next couple of days, move across the vicinity of Luzon Strait and enter the northern part of the South China Sea, edging closer to the coast of Guangdong. The Observatory will issue the Standby Signal, No. 1 around noon on Monday. Ragasa has an extensive circulation. Although local weather will improve briefly and will be very hot on Monday, there will be swells. The weather will deteriorate rapidly later on Tuesday. Gale to storm force winds will prevail on Wednesday, and winds may reach hurricane force offshore and on high ground. The weather will be adverse with heavy squally showers and thunderstorms. Seas will be very high with swells. Under the influence of significant storm surge, the sea level over coastal areas by then may be similar to that of Hato in 2017 and Mangkhut in 2018.
