With an aim to better understand the needs of various sectors in Hong Kong in enhancing their emergency management capabilities, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute (HKJCDPRI) has conducted a qualitative study to identify training needs and gaps in Emergency Management (defined as "unexpected situations that affect normal operations" in this study) for decision makers in different sectors in Hong Kong. On 17-19 September 2019, two representatives of the HKJCDPRI participated in the Emergo Train System - Senior Instructor Course held in Brisbane, Australia.
The recent social situation in Hong Kong may have caused various levels of emotional disturbances in many people of Hong Kong. The youth is among one of the vulnerable groups to emotional and psychological stress related to the recent social unrest.
