Intensity of UV radiation : moderate The convective clouds associated with a broad trough of low pressure are affecting the central part of the South China Sea. The trough of low pressure is expected to edge closer to the coast of southern China gradually in the next couple of days. An area of low pressure may develop over the trough. Whether the area of low pressure will further develop into a tropical cyclone remains rather uncertain. Under the influence of the low pressure system, there will be heavy showers and squally thunderstorms over the coast of Guangdong on Tuesday and Wednesday (14 and 15 July). The Observatory will closely monitor its development and movement. Members of the public should take note of the latest weather information from the Observatory.
