Since 2018, the HKJCDPRI has been collaborating with the Fire Services Department and became one of the co-organisers of the “Use the Ambulance Service Properly” Roving Exhibition. The event brought disaster preparedness messages through exhibitions and game booths to participant from different districts. The exhibition on 5 January (Sat) at the Wind Tower Park in Ap Lei Chau kicked-off the series in 2019.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute launches annual “Community Campaign on Disaster Resilience” to enhance community resilience through a range of public education activities.   As part of the campaign, a microfilm production competition under the theme “Prepare Disasters as Part of our Daily Lives” will be organized. Secondary and tertiary students are encouraged to explore potential disaster risks and preparedness measures in their daily lives, present it via microfilm production, and to demonstrate how crucial yet handy it could be to prepare for disasters.   


Hong Kong has suffered its fair share of extreme weather owing to climate change globally. Yet, most of the citizens are not aware of how Hong Kong might prepare for disasters. To enhance awareness and understanding of general public on various hazards and their related risks to Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute will launch a series of public education campaigns jointly with community-based organisations, hoping to raise the community’s preparedness of and resilience to natural and manmade disasters.
