Community Engagement in Disaster Planning and Response: Recommendations for Hong Kong
This policy brief is built on the Scoping Study: Disaster Preparedness in Hong Kong conducted by FXB Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, in collaboration with the Emergency Medicine Unit at the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the Collaborating Centre for Oxford University and CUHK for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response (CCOUC), and commissioned by HKJCDPRI.
Based on one of the findings of the Scoping Study, a broad recognition among agency leaders and citizens of the need to improve community engagement in all aspects of disaster management, this policy brief provides insights on how to lay a foundation of community engagement in Hong Kong.
