Invitation to a Pilot Run of Basic Disaster Life Support Course on 18 October 2017

We are pleased to announce that the Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute (HKJCDPRI) is going to conduct the National Disaster Life Support (NDLS) courses in Hong Kong with collaboration with the National Disaster Life Support Foundation (NDLSF).

The NDLS Courses

Endorsed by the American College of Emergency Physicians as the gold standard in all-hazards training for medical responses to mass casualty incident, the NDLS courses are a series of education programmes to better prepare health care professionals and emergency response personnel for mass casualty events. Through competency-based courses and curricula, the NDLS programme emphasizes an all-hazards, multidisciplinary approach to personal, institutional and community disaster management. Whether faced with a natural disaster, a terrorist attack or pandemic, NDLS courses provide the knowledge and skills health personnel needed to respond to a disaster.

NDLS courses are offered by the accredited NDLS Training Centre globally. With the support of the National Disaster Life Support Foundation based in the USA and the National Training Centre based in China, the HKJCDPRI will pilot the Basic Disaster Life Support (BDLS) course and the Advanced Disaster Life Support (ADLS) course in Hong Kong. Speakers will be from the NDLSF headquarters in the USA and the National Training Centre.
