Over the 5-year period, Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute aims to train around 30,000 healthcare professionals, NGOs workers, teachers/ students and members of the community in Hong Kong on disaster preparedness and responses; to provide a central platform for ongoing professional education, networking and policy conversations. We develop capacity building programme, including core curriculum in disaster preparedness and response such as new modules of Master of Public Health run by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong, e-learning modules, senior leadership and special leadership programme run by Specialty Colleges; specialized tracks training focusing on public health and emergency medicine; simulation-based training including field medical procedures, XVR game-based learning and virtual reality, and faculty mentorship and development enabling knowledge transfer activities with international experts.
